British singer and songwriter Frank Turner is returning to Prague on April 14th. He will perform his sixth album Positive Songs for Negative People released August 2015. Presale starts on Friday January 15th at 10AM via GoOut.cz, Ticketpro and Lucerna Music Bar box office.
“Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about debut albums. When a band makes a debut record, they essentially roll into the studio and play through their extant live set. There’s freshness, an excitement to it that bands often lose as time goes by. I wanted to try and make a record that had that young, exciting feel, full of piss and vinegar,” says Frank Turner about recording the new album. He flew to Nashville with whole band in 2014 and finished the album in only nine days. “Pretty much all of it is live, and I’m proud to say that with one exception every vocal take on the record is unedited as well,” he says. Well known singer, musician and producer Butch Walker was in charge of producing the record. You can find his signature on albums from artists like Katy Perry, Hot Hot Heat, Pink or Fall Out Boy. “In some ways I feel like this record is my definitive statement, a summation of the first five records,” says Frank.
Frank Turner was former singer of post-hardcore band Million Dead. He started his solo career in 2006 and released 6 albums since then. One can still hear his roots in heavy music, but his solo work is more based in folk and punk. Frank is quickly gaining a lot of popularity all around the world after conquering his home, England. He also toured NA with most of the shows sold out with great unforgettable live performance awarded by Best Live Act AIM Award in 2011. If you are still not convinced ask someone who visited Frank’s last Prague gig two years ago, they didn’t forget…
