Australian indie folk rock band The Paper Kites will bring their new album twelvefour to Rock Café Prague on January 26th 2016. Presale will start on Friday November 20th via GoOut.cz and Ticketpro for 390 CZK.
The Paper Kites’ history started when Sam Bentley and Christine Lacy were at school together. They got three more band members in 2010 and released breakthrough single Bloom – the song that defined the band for a long time. Despite huge success, the band stayed DIY. This unique approach is also applied in music videos shot by the band itself. Shortly afterwards, two more EPs called Woodland and Young North followed. The Paper Kites supported Bombay Bicycle Club on their Australian tour. The debut album States was released in 2013 followed by US tour with City and Colour. Second full-length album twelvefour was released in August. The interesting fact is that the whole record was composed between midnight and 4 AM. Matthew J. Cox directed a documentary movie about making of this album.
German singer Lùisa will perform as opening act. Lùisa’s music is simply fascinating. Singer and songwriter based in North German harbor city Hamburg is mixing together influences like folk, minimal electronic and DIY. Everything around music, graphics or videos is made by Lủisa herself or her closest friends. Her work is personal and wonderful in every single detail thanks to this attitude which you can experience through her two albums named One Youth Ago and Never Own. Lủisa’s gigs are often positively acclaimed by fans no matter if she is playing alone just with guitar and synthesizer or with full live band.
Come to discover the melodies from the new The Paper Kites album on Thursday January 26th to Rock Café Prague.
