Their debut album caused quite a commotion on the independent music scene. Purity Ring’s future pop charmed both critics and the audience. This year, the band released a new album that they will introduce on the November 5th 2015 at Roxy club in Prague. The pre-sale starts on the June 26th at 10 am via GoOut.cz or Ticketpro network. The ticket can be purchased for 490 CZK.
Purity Ring is formed by Megan James and Corin Roddick. Their mesmerizing debut album Shrines from 2012 was recorded separately in Montreal and Halifax, where Corin and Megan were respectively living at the time. Despite being a thousand kilometers apart and barely talking, Shrines was a cohesive, beguiling and wholly unique universe of what the band called ‘Future Pop’. Critics were psyched: ‘Best New Music’ from Pitchfork and praise from The New York Times, Rolling Stone, and NPR, among others. They quickly amassed a rabid fanbase, toured relentlessly and sold out shows worldwide.
After three years, Purity Ring have returned with their super-tight second album Another Eternity. The pair ventured home to the frozen industrial landscapes of their birthplace Edmonton to document much of what was to become the album. Megan’s distinctive vocals, freezing beats and hints of dance rhytms, shift Purity Ring a step ahead again. The band will play in Czech Republic for the very first time.
