Great news: folk-punk singer and songwriter Frank Turner will visit Prague as part of his worldwide tour! Originally a more hardcore singer embarked on an acoustic-based solo career in 2005. You can see Turner’s project with the band The Sleeping Souls live on March 9 at Lucerna Music Bar. The tickets are available through Ticketpro network, Lucerna Music Bar website or directly at the venue.

Frank Turner was initially a member and singer of a post-hardcore band Million Dead. You can feel this influence in his current work, but more noticeable are elements of folk and punk. He has released five studio albums since 2005. The last one, Tape Deck Heart, was released this April. He cooperated on this album with producer Rich Costey who is really something in the music industry: he worked with such names like Muse, My Chemical Romance and in the past even with Bruce Springsteen or Johnny Cash. The cooperation with Costey wasn’t always smooth – for example when he made Turner do 50 takes for just one song! However, it paid off: the results are amazing.

Turner is the absolute darling of audiences in his home country, Britain. His life performances are unforgettable: it wasn’t by a chance that he received an award for Best Life Act and many more! He was even asked to perform at Olympics opening Ceremony in London, playing on the same stage as Paul McCartney, Dizzee Rascal or Underworld for a symbolic fee of one pound.

Prior to Frank’s Prague gig, no less than two great band wil support the musician – folk-punkers Andrew Jackson Jihad from Phoenix, Arizona, and British-born Ducking Punches who will soon release their new full-length album.
