Prague’s Chapeau Rouge will have the honour in welcoming the Canadian folk project Timber Timbre for the first time ever in Czech Republic! A jolly sweet evening is awaiting fans on October 31. The tickets are available through Ticketpro network or through Facebook app of Fource Entertainment from July 9.

Timber Timbre is an experimental folk trio of Taylor Kirk, Simon Trottier and Mika Posen. The band’s name comes from their early times when they recorded their compositions in a timber-framed cabin deep in the woods of Ontario. The band has been through five records already, the last one of which, Hot Dreams, was published in April this year. Judging by the excited review of The Guardian, the album sounds a bit as a spooky Western soundtrack directed by David Lynch. Guardian’s critic Jon Dennis five-starred the album and went as far as to compare the band’s singer Kirk to Roy Orbison. The truth is that Kirk’s voice has something deeply intriguing about it: some hear Nick Cave, others Elvis or Johnny Cash. Either way, the work of this Canadian three-piece mirrors certain aspects of cinematography, thrillers and lost souls – all neatly packed into a blues-ish experimental folk.

Ticket price: 315 CZK + fees

PS. Yay! Timber Timbre are nominated for the Association of Independent Music Best Live Act Award for 2014: the winner will be revealed at the AIM Awards ceremony in London on September 2. Fingers crossed!
