Songwriter, guitarist and producer Oscar Jerome is on the cusp of releasing his third solo LP, The Fork, weaving sophisticated and nuanced narratives into the recognisably lyrical guitar style with which he made his name in London’s vibrant musical community. A former member of celebrated outfit Kokoroko, Jerome has since honed an articulate, sensitive approach to song-writing, releasing two EPs and LPs and touring the world off the back of his acclaimed 2022 album The Spoon.
Described by Jerome as “about coming to a reckoning with yourself,“ The Fork is the first record that he has produced entirely himself, maturing a sound that owes as much to folk troubadours John Martyn and Joni Mitchell as it does to Prince and early Carlos Santana. His most personal and ambitious record to date, The Fork represents a deepening of Jerome’s experience of the world through music, where a crafted metaphor or single chord can communicate feelings that are often impossible to grasp.
