Dutch discovery Klangstof is coming to Prague for the first time. The first Dutch band to play Coachella festival will perform in Chapeau Rouge on December 1st 2017. Tickets for 295 czk go on sale on Friday, April 28th 2017 at 10 am via fource.cz, GoOut.cz and Ticketpro.
Koen Van De Wardt began to produce music when he was 14 years old after he moved from the Netherlands to a solitary house in northern Norway. “My life was torn apart and I had to start all over again. I had to learn a new language and build up a new life,” he describes his experience. Shortly after he came back to Amsterdam, he released his debut album Close Eyes To Exit under moniker Klangstof last year. The record’s name reveals a lot about Koen’s music; hinting at estrangement and the struggle to find his place in the world and if it doesn’t work, create a world of his own. Indifferently proclaimed lyrics like „Nintendo is the only thing that makes me smile“ are accompanied by cold synthesizer spaces. Koen says about himself: “People expect a very depressed young man and instead they get this smiling asshole.”
There is definitely a lot to expect from the band’s live show. “We saw Klangstof play at the showcase festival Eurosonic and it was one of these shows you can only describe with a ,wow’,” says Kristyna Koreis from the promoting company Fource. Come and see for yourself.
