On the contemporary pop-scene, there is no name mentioned more these days. Canadian singer, who conquered the world thanks to her single Hideaway, is coming to Czech. Inspired by 1990s dance music, Kiesza is bringing her show to Lucerna Music Bar in Prague on the 2nd of February 2015. Slovakian singer Mista will perform as a support act.
She could become a professional ballet dancer, sailor or beauty queen. Eventually, 25-year-old Kiesa Rae Ellestad settled on a career in music and it seems like she made the right choice. The redhead gathered international attention for the singl Hideaway. The one-take music video filmed in Brooklyn became a viral sensation. It topped the charts in the UK and has more than 150 million views on YouTube. Kiesza became an overnight phenomenon and as she later admitted, Hideaway was finished within mere 90 minutes. No mater how it may seem at first sight, Kiesza is no hyped-up business industry newbie. Before moving to New York to pursue her music career, she graduated from prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston. Later, she wrote several songs for such stars as Kylie Minogue, Rihanna or Icona Pop and she collaborated for example with Skrillex or Diplo. Calgary-born and raised singer just released her debut album called Sound of a Woman. In cooperation with producer Rami Sami Afuni, inspired by New York dance clubs of the 90s as well as current UK club culture, Kiesza made a fresh electropop album. She smartly experiments with other genres, such as hip-hop or R&B. “I think people will be surprised to hear some of the songs on this album,” Kiesza explains.
