American singer, guitarist and composer Jason Mraz embarks on a global concert tour, visiting Prague in September! American guitarist, singer and composer Jason Mraz will perform for the first time ever in Czech Republic in Prague’s Palác Akropolis, September 20, 2011.

Mraz, who is of Czech descent after his grandfather, recently announced plans for a special international tour, an extraordinary itinerary that will see the Grammy Award-winning tunesmith visiting North America, Europe, Asia, Africa, and Australia. More than just a concert tour, Mraz’ worldwide journey will see him celebrating music’s lasting power to inspire change and help others through global citizenship. In Prague, Mraz will perform together with his longtime friend, percussionist Noel “Toca” Rivera, celebrating the tenth anniversary of their independently released classic, “LIVE AT JAVA JOE’S.” Mraz’s guitar and vocals match beautifully with Rivera’s intuitive djembe playing and the two maintain a long friendship and collaborative relationship, recording and touring together to this day.

Mraz’s work truly is multi-genre, inspired by pop, reggae, folk, jazz, rock and hiphop. “I dig the groove Toca lays down with his drum,” Mraz says, “and the delicate touch he finds on the harmonies. He’s like every member of the Dave Matthews Band and Boyz II Men rolled up in one prize wind-up teddy bear designed to beat a drum.” Mraz of course went on to become a worldwide superstar, a multi-talented singer/songwriter who made pop history with the sensational single, “I’m Yours.” The track – featured on Jason’s RIAA platinum-certified album, “WE SING. WE DANCE. WE STEAL THINGS.” – was a momentous #1 smash, earning ASCAP’s 2010 “Song of the Year” award while also setting the record for the longest-running song in the 51-year history of Billboard’s “Hot 100.” Long known for his many philanthropic activities, Mraz recently established the “Jason Mraz Foundation,” formed in order to help sustain a number of charities for which he has been a dedicated and impassioned advocate. These are for example foundations trying to eradicate child’s slavery around the world, to equalize homosexuals’ rights, or foundations helping and supporting children and protecting nature. Mraz also supports the recently earthquake-stricken Japan.
