Adam Cohen in the Czech Republic! The son of the legendary Leonard Cohen embarks on an international tour and will play for the first time in Prague!
Singer and songwriter Adam Cohen (39), son of the world renowned Leonard Cohen, will perform this year for the first time in the Czech Republic, as one of the stops for his international tour. The concert will take place on Tuesday, December 6, at Theater U Hasičů.
Cohen, Jr. is just about to publish his brand new CD Like a Man, to which the international tour is linked; Cohen will play for Canada, Europe, and even Australia.
Cohen was born in the Canadian city of Montreal, and, as he himself remarks, spent growing up in an artistically-soaken environs. It is not a surprise then that he became a musician. His debut album was published in 1998, followed by years of musical practice and searching. Like a Man is Cohen’s fourth album, which abandoned the former pop-rock stylizations of the previous albums, and beautifully accentuates his family’s legacy through intimate folk-pop arrangements. Leonard Cohen even described as two of the album’s singles as being the world’s classiest love songs. Adam Cohen carefully keeps away from copying his father; he only elegantly and simply references his father’s music whilst keeping to his own style.
Just before Cohen comes to Prague, he will play for Vienna and Lausanne, after Prague he heads for Poland and Turkey. In Prague, Cohen will appear together with a special guest, singer, guitarist and cellist Mai Bloomfield.
‘‘Fource was proud to promote Leonard Cohen’s sold out show at the O2 arena in August 2009 and is delighted to bring his son to the Czech Republic for the first time ever,” said one of the representatives of Fource entertainment, the promoting agency that is bringing Adam Cohen to the Czech Republic for the first time ever.
